US President Donald Trump thanks in a series of posts on Twitter for the nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize for 2021.

It is Frp’s Christian Tybring-Gjedde who has nominated the American president. Tybring-Gjedde believes Trump must receive the Peace Prize for a decisive contribution to the peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

– Thanks! Trump wrote in several messages and posts on Twitter.

Trump has previously complained that he has not been considered more seriously for the generous award, and has expressed bitterness at the thought that his predecessor Barack Obama received it in 2009.

– They gave it to Obama. He did not even do what he got it for. He was there for 15 seconds, and he received the Nobel Prize. I’ll probably not get it, Trump said last year.

This is the second time Christian Tybring-Gjedde has nominated Trump for the Peace Prize. Together with party colleague and parliamentary representative Per-Willy Amundsen, he asked in 2018 that the American president receive the award for his approach to North Korea and the talks he then had with the country’s leader, Kim Jong-un.

Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law and White House adviser, says the president is “very honored to have been nominated.”

– “All US allies feel that they are much closer to the US, and now they are more closely linked and break barriers that people did not think were possible to break. It really is a hopeful time for the Middle East,” says Kushner.
