The municipal chief medical officer in Ullensaker told TV 2 that three positive corona test results had been sent for sequencing for the omicron variant.

Municipal chief medical officer Einar Kristian Borud told the channel that the Municipality has not yet received the sequencing results.

The sequencing can take several days.

The Norwegian Directorate of Health’s definition of suspected cases includes cases of persons who test positive after arrival in Norway directly from or via stopovers from one of the eight countries in southern Africa.

TV 2 has contacted several municipalities to find out if they suspect omicron infection.

“We have not been able to prove omicron and do not suspect such a variant here,” Tove Røsstad, the municipal chief medical officer in Trondheim, said.
