In the last 24 hours, twelve people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus in Ålesund. The Municipality asks people to remember that the pandemic isn’t over.

There are a total of 60 people in isolation in Ålesund due to the coronavirus, and 260 are in quarantine, the Municipality reported on its website on Wednesday.

Infection tracking is ongoing, and according to infection control officer Maiken Talsæte, the situation is demanding.

“The period of holidays has a lot of travel activity, and there are more people participating in events. That led to is infected people having more close contacts. The infection spreads quickly and can also spread to those who have already been vaccinated,” Talsæte said.

The Municipality encourages young people, in particular, to get vaccinated.
