Two landowners along the new Follo line were awarded more than NOK 50 million in compensation after their farms were used as landfills for tunnel mass.

The two landowners at Åsland southeast of Oslo have received NOK 45 million and NOK 5.5 million respectively in the Borgarting Court of Appeal, newspaper Nationen writes.

That is a reduction from the Oslo District Court’s judgment on compensation of NOK 70.6 and 6.7 million.

In addition, Bane Nor will cover the other parties’ legal costs in the Court of Appeal of approximately NOK 1 million.

Case background

Bane Nor informed the newspaper that they have not looked thoroughly at the verdict, which was passed on February 8.

The mass has been deposited on the two properties since the development of a 22-kilometer-long tunnel on the Follo line between Oslo S and Ski.

The deposition has mainly taken place at a bog site. Bane Nor has believed that the two landowners have not had any financial loss by getting the mass on their plots.
