Two men accused of biggest fraud in Norwegian history will be extradited from Israel to Norway
Two men accused of defrauding Edison Norway for around NOK 150 million will be extradited to Norway, the Israeli Supreme Court has decided.
“As we understand it, all appeal opportunities in Israel have been used up. We expect that the two will be extradited during the early autumn,” police attorney Rune Gjertsen in the Southwestern Police District told the newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad.
The police believe that the two men played key roles when the energy company Edison was cheated out of many millions of kroner in the autumn of 2019.
The two men are a 30-year-old Israeli citizen and a 29-year-old Italian citizen.
The fraud against Edison’s Norwegian head office in Stavanger is probably the biggest fraud in Norwegian history, according to news bureau NTB.
