Two men in their early 20s were arrested by the police in Oslo on Saturday night due to suspicion of threats with weapons.

– “We were first notified of the case at 01:38. A man is said to have behaved threateningly towards a woman in Keysers gate in central Oslo. He is said to have threatened her with an iron pipe. It was also said that a weapon was shown,” says operations manager Rune Hekkelstrand.

About 20 minutes later, two men were arrested in a car in Kingos gate by Aleksander Kiellands plass.

– “A weapon was found in connection with the car, which we suspect that the two men were in possession of. While this was going on, another woman called and says that she had been threatened by two men at Grünerløkka, probably the same two,” he says.

The police have a hypothesis about the background for the first threat episode, without going into it further.

– “The two men are in custody, and we will interrogate the suspects and question the two female victims as soon as possible,” Hekkelstrand says.

The women who are said to have been threatened are aged 18 to 25, according to the police.
