Two people seriously injured in ambulance collision in Arendal

Four people have been taken to the hospital after an ambulance collided with a truck on E18 in Arendal. Two people are seriously injured.

The accident happened while the emergency services were responding to a fire on Thursday morning. The report of the fire came at 9:53 AM.

Just before it arrived at the accident site on the E18 at the Torsbuås tunnel, the ambulance was involved in a traffic accident.

“The ambulance collided with a truck immediately before arriving at the fire site. We do not know the full circumstances,” operations manager Hans Waage in Agder Police District told news bureau NTB.

“There were four people in the ambulance. Everyone has been taken to the emergency room at Arendal Hospital. Two have been described as seriously injured,” Waage added.

The fire was quickly extinguished by other emergency services who arrived at the scene. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
