The two reported at 6:00 PM on Friday that they had to resort to an emergency bivouac in the shed at Kjølen due to bad weather, Troms Police District reported on Twitter on Saturday morning.

Crews from Norwegian People’s Aid Tromsø tried to reach them but had to cancel the effort around 9:15 PM. The two women were told to prepare for a night in the shed.

Later in the night, a ski team of five people made a new attempt, and at 3:40 AM, they arrived at the cabin.

Just before six o’clock on Saturday morning, the two were brought safely down from the mountain, the police noted.
