U.S. plates will be available in Norway

On October 26th, the Department of Transportation will release the plates for US purposes in Norway, at the request of US car owners.

While the usual Norwegian number plates have a size of 52 cm x 11 cm, American cars are adapted to American placards of 30 cm x 15 cm, which is also why it has been necessary to make adjustments in order to put them on Norwegian plates,” says the Ministry of Transport in a press release.

The new signs will contain letters and numbers in two rows, and car owners will be able to send pictures as paperwork instead of having to bring the car in for display.

“This is really positive news for American car owners,” says Transport Minister Knut Arild Hareide (KrF).

The minister also promises another exciting announcement for car enthusiasts;” Now, we will also pave the way for combining personal features with American ones and other small features. However, to get this up and running, some technical and regulatory changes are being required. These will probably be ready for input by this autumn,” said the Transport Minister.
