UK launches mass vaccination against coronavirus
The UK launched a large-scale vaccination campaign against the coronavirus on Tuesday morning.
The first to receive the vaccine was 90-year-old Margaret Keenan.
“This is the best birthday present I could wish for,” Kennan said. She said that she feels privileged to be the first to receive the vaccine.
She was given the injection at a hospital in Coventry.
Last week, Britain became the first Western country to grant emergency approval for a corona vaccine.
It chose to approve the vaccine developed by the companies Pfizer and Biontech.
