Ukraine and Russia have agreed to open eight humanitarian corridors from Ukrainian cities on Monday, but Mariupol is not among them.

The information was shared by Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, according to Reuters.

According to Vereshchuk, new attempts to reach the besieged port city of Mariupol have not succeeded.

She further stated that more than 7,000 civilians evacuated from Ukrainian cities on Sunday, more than half of them from Mariupol.

On Sunday night, Russian forces asked the city’s defenders to lay down their arms and surrender. The demand was quickly rejected by the Ukrainian side.
