Nordic governments have agreed to maintain national border controls until further notice.
There is, however, full agreement with regards to returning to normal as quickly as possible.
As to when border controls will be lifted, Nordic cooperation ministers could not answer Tuesday.
“It is hard to say. Right now there are declining numbers of asylum seekers in all the Nordic countries, but we cannot say whether or not things will continue to develop in that direction. For border controls to be repealed, we will need to see stabilization over time.” said the Finnish cooperation minister Anne Berner when she met the press in Parliament Tuesday.
Finland currently holds the chair of the Nordic Council, in session this week at Oslo.
