Part of the parking lot, which is in flames at Stavanger Airport, has collapsed. More than 300 cars have been destroyed in the fire, according to Stavanger Aftenblad.

The fire in a parking lot at Stavanger Airport Sola has put a stop to air traffic. Avinor is asking air passengers that leave on Wednesday to stay up to date.

“We hope that traffic will go as normal tomorrow. We expect so, but please follow the situation,” says Ginli Høeg Ulverud, head of information at Avinor, to NTB on Tuesday night.

She urges air passengers who are leaving the airport on Wednesday to follow information from their airline or Avinor’s website.

The report of the fire in the parking lot came at 3.30 pm on Tuesday afternoon. Air traffic at Stavanger Airport was quickly halted, and at the airport, emergency crews were set to fire emergency status immediately when the fire started.
