According to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), more than 1.7 million people have fled Ukraine since Russia invaded the country a week and a half ago.
According to the latest update from the UNHCR, 1,735,068 refugees were registered on Monday – about 200,000 more than on Sunday.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) says that about half of the refugees are children.
