An unknown perpetrator fired several shots at a wind farm in Falu Municipality in Sweden. The shots have caused damage amounting to at least half a million Swedish kroner.

That corresponds to just over NOK 460,000 at today’s exchange rate. The incident has been reported by the company that operates the power plant, the newspaper Dalarnas Tidningar writes.

It is unclear when the shooting took place, but last week it became clear that the damage to one of the blades on the windmill in question was caused by a weapon with bullets.

The blade and other parts of the turbine have to be taken down and will be out of operation for three months.

The company has submitted an application to Falu Municipality to restrict people’s access to the area. Employees in the company have reported burglaries in their cars several times.
