In the last 24 hours, the FHI has registered 10,172 new corona cases in Norway. After Norway’s latest changes in the testing system, fewer cases are being registered than before.

Figures from the Notification System for Infectious Diseases (MSIS) show that 3,868 fewer cases were registered in the last 24 hours than on the same day last week.

On January 24, 2022, the FHI made major changes to the testing system, so fewer corona cases are now being registered in the MSIS. Due to this, figures after January 25 are not comparable with older figures.

On Sunday, 290 corona patients were hospitalized – 11 more than the day before. Out of the total, 45 patients are in intensive care, and 28 of them are on respirators, according to the Norwegian Directorate of Health’s overview.

In the last seven days, an average of 18,357 corona infection cases have been registered per day. The corresponding average seven days ago was 20,352, so the trend is declining.
