Update: 1,621,203 Norwegians have received the first dose of the corona vaccine

A total of 1,621,203 people have been vaccinated with the first dose of the corona vaccine in Norway, the FHI’s statistics show on Thursday. Furthermore, 892,748 people have received the second dose.

According to the FHI, 8,728 people received the first dose on Wednesday, and 77,219 people received the second dose.

Pfizer and BioNTech produced the first corona vaccine used in Norway. The first dose was administered on December 27, 2020. 

On January 15, the first dose of the Moderna vaccine was administered, and on February 7, the first AstraZeneca dose was given. 

On March 11, the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine was suspended. On May 12, the government announced 12 that the AstraZeneca vaccine would be withdrawn from the country’s vaccination program due to reports of severe cases of blood clots.
