A total of 25 people in Drammen Municipality have been diagnosed with coronavirus in the last 24 hours. Four cases have an unknown route of transmission.

The remaining 21 have known infection routes, the Municipality stated.

In the last three days, 67 new infection cases have been registered in Drammen, which is exactly as many as the Municipality registered throughout February.

“Even with a month with the strictest corona restrictions behind us, we still have an infection pressure that leads to as many cases of infection in three days as a whole month earlier this winter,” municipal chief physician Ingeborg Johannessen said.

“The health authorities’ predictions that March and April could be very demanding have unfortunately proved to be true, and we are still not done with the demanding period,” Johannessen added.

So far this month, 331 cases of infection have been registered.

Since the start of the pandemic, 3,826 people living in Drammen Municipality have been diagnosed with coronavirus, while 47 people have died after being diagnosed with the infection.
