Update: The majority of Norwegians over the age of 18 are fully vaccinated

A total of 50.3% of the Norwegian population over the age of 18 has now received two corona vaccine doses, figures from the National Institute of Public Health (FHI) show.

A total of 3,756,881 people have been vaccinated with the first dose of corona vaccine in Norway, the FHI’s statistics show on Friday. Furthermore, 2,154,583 people have received the second dose.

That means that 69.7% of the population has received the first dose, while 40% of the population are fully vaccinated.

For the population over the age of 18, the coverage is 87.8% and 50.3%, respectively. On Thursday, 14,051 people received the first dose, and 58,953 people received the second dose.

On Friday, it was announced that Norway would receive 1 million extra doses of the Moderna vaccine from Poland and that the vaccination could be further accelerated.
