According to a study from the USA, rapid tests detect most people with coronavirus symptoms, while people without symptoms often get the wrong answer.

Rapid tests detect four out of five infected people if they have symptoms of coronavirus.

However, only two out of five who take rapid tests are diagnosed with infection if they do not have symptoms but still have the virus in their body.

In some cases, rapid tests can also give a positive answer even if people are not infected, according to a study carried out by the American Institute of Public Health Center for Disease Control (CDC).

About 1,100 people at two universities in the state of Wisconsin participated in the survey.
