Norwegian and allied defense personnel who have been vaccinated will follow adapted entry quarantine rules during working hours.

Personnel who have had coronavirus in the last six months will also be able to follow adapted entry quarantine rules, the government stated in a press release.

The requirement is that a negative rapid test is taken on arrival in Norway. In the event of a negative PCR test taken no earlier than three days after arrival in Norway, the personnel will also be excluded from the entry quarantine in their free time.

Bakke-Jensen: Important for Norwegian security

Minister of Defense Frank Bakke-Jensen (H) says that allied presence in Norway is important for Norwegian security.

“Adaptation of entry quarantine rules for protected or fully vaccinated defense personnel will make the reception (of personnel) easier at the same time as infection control is taken care of in a good way.

“It is also an important decision for both the Armed Forces and our allies in their planning for future training and exercises in Norway,” he added.

The change applies from May 28.
