According to the newspaper VG, 75 flights were canceled on Wednesday, June 29, due to delays due to the aircraft maintenance engineer labor dispute.

Widerøe has canceled 36 flights, SAS has canceled 33 flights, Norwegian has canceled 4, and KLM has canceled two departures.

The government intervened in the dispute and forcibly ended it on Tuesday, but it may take time before the airlines have normal operations in place again.

“It will take days, and it could take weeks before we are where we would have been without the dispute,” communications manager Catharina Solli in Widerøe told NTB after the government intervened on Tuesday.

Widerøe has had to cancel several hundred departures as a result of the dispute, and the airline will continue to struggle with delays.

Norwegian expects a backlog of technical maintenance.

“The goal is to complete all flights on the program,” the company wrote in a press release.

SAS also warns of possible backlog.
