VG: Hundreds of threats and attacks have been registered at NAV Vestland since 2017

According to the newspaper VG, in the last five years, NAV Vestland has registered 811 episodes of attacks, threats, and harassment.

The newspaper got access to an overview that covers 18 NAV offices in Vestland.

Since 2017, 439 reports of threats and threatening behavior have been registered, according to the overview.

At the same time, 18 cases of physical assault, 119 cases of verbal abuse, and 95 threats of self-harm or suicide have been registered.

On Monday, a woman in her 50s was killed, while another woman in her 30s suffered lighter injuries in a stabbing attack at NAV’s office in Årstad in Bergen. 

A man in his 30s has been remanded in custody, charged with murder and inflicting grievous bodily harm. Several NAV employees have said they want to quit their job after the murder.
