Norway could get up to 1.9 million more doses of Moderna’s corona vaccine, Sweden’s vaccine coordinator Richard Bergström told newspaper VG.

The EU is now negotiating to double the current agreement to buy a total of 160 million vaccine doses from Moderna, Bergström told the newspaper.

“It is, in principle, clear. Moderna is increasing capacity considerably and is working on increasing volume in France. Everything looks good. The doubling of Moderna (capacity) may materialize from the third quarter,” he noted.

If a new agreement is finalized, the EU could receive around 320 million vaccine doses. Norway would receive around 1.2% of these.

Norway already has an agreement to receive 1.9 million doses of Moderna’s vaccine.
