Test concerts will be held in Oslo and Bergen already next month – up to 3,000 people will be able to attend, newspaper VG writes.
“Solid research on the effect of rapid tests can have major consequences for the pace of the reopening of cultural life,” Minister of Culture Abid Raja (V) told the newspaper.
VG writes that the first test concerts will have an audience of between 3,000 and 5,000 participants. The concert project aims to find out how the infection spreads during larger events.
The Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI) wants to recruit 30,000 participants for the project.
Two groups will be tested before and after a concert has taken place, which makes it possible to compare how many were infected in both groups – and thus get an answer as to whether concerts led to an increased risk of infection.
