The three companies Voi, Tier, and Bolt won the tender to rent electric scooters in Oslo. The companies can rent out 2,667 e-scooters each.

Twelve companies participated in the tender to rent out scooters in Oslo. Voi, Tier, and Bolt won the tender round, the newspaper DN writes.

The companies will be allowed to rent out 2,667 vehicles each from April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023.

Last summer, there were around 25,000 electric scooters in Oslo. Towards the end of the summer, Oslo Municipality sharply tightened the rules and set a maximum of 8,000 scooters that could be distributed among all industry companies. Now a new scheme is in place.

Voi came in first place in the tender round. According to DN, the Voi emphasized its promises about “routines and instruments for securing accessible public spaces” in the assessment.

“This is an offer that serves the whole city, not just those who use electric scooters. Together with the Municipality, we will find the best parking solutions,” Nordic region manager in Voi, Christina Moe Gjerde, stated in a press release.
