The airline Widerøe has warned customers against a so-called phishing attempt. An email from [email protected] has been sent to an unknown number of recipients.

The suspicious email has been sent from the email address [email protected]

The subject line says “Apple account credit card information XX-5126 has expired!”

“The first signs of a phishing attempt were discovered at 3:45 AM on Wednesday,” communications manager in Widerøe Catharina Solli noted.

She asked recipients of the email not to open in but to delete it.

The company stopped 6,000 of the scam emails that were on their way out.
