It is uncertain whether a Pride parade will be organized in Oslo this year. “We have not made a final decision yet,” Oslo Pride leader Inger Kristin Haugsevje says.

Haugsevje was in Iceland at the weekend and took part in Reykjavik Pride, where Oslo Pride was represented first in the parade. However, it is uncertain whether there will be a Pride parade in Oslo this year.

“The safety of the public comes first. Oslo Pride has not made a final decision yet. We adhere to the police’s recommendations, and as the level of terrorism risk, according to the police, is as high as it is, it is not possible to plan the practicalities at present,” the Oslo Pride leader added.

Uncertainty and postponements of Pride events have characterized the country this summer. The reason for this is an increased threat level after the Oslo shooting on June 25, just hours before there was to be a Pride parade in the capital.
