Woman (56) found dead after fire in Odda

Police found a dead person after the fire in an old wooden Odda Sunday. The deceased  is  probably the  56-year old missing  woman  , police said.

The person is sent to Gades Institute for autopsy and  final  identification,  sheriff Terje Kvalvik Hardanger  confirmed to NTB.

Crime Technicians from Western police arrived Monday to Odda to assist local police and fire departments in the investigation following the fire in Eitrheimsvegen Sunday morning. It took time for technicians to investigate the fire site.

– The roof was burned and partially  collapsed, so it had some safety work before we arrived, says Kvalvik.

The woman, who was at a party in the house , is  said  to have gone to the attic  to sleep.

Five people  in total were sent to hospital for checks, and two  neighboring  houses  were evacuated because of the fire  raging in the house.

There was a  party in the residence  onSaturday night.  The residents who were in the house and got out, were four adults and a three years old child.   Odda  was experiencing strong winds  on the night when the fire occurred.
