Woman convicted of conning 17 men

A woman from Troms has been sentenced to three and a half years imprisonment for conning 17 men to pay her over NOK 600,000 in total.


The woman’s husband and son were convicted in the same case, and were convicted to prison for two years and 120 days according to the Lofot Journal.

The woman found the men, among other places,in Facebook groups for singles. She pretended to be a woman seeking contacts and asked for money for expenses to visit the men.She told them that she needed money for her mother’s funeral or to cover sickness expenses. All the stories were untrue.

In an almost identical case, the same couple were convicted in Vesterålen district court last autumn.

Then, they had instructed six men to pay them a total of 670,000 kroner wrote Nordlys newspaper.
