A woman was declared dead on the spot after being hit by the Bybanen between Skjold and Lagunen in Bergen on Monday afternoon.
The emergency services were notified of the incident at 12:41 PM.
The Western Police District wrote in a press release that the woman was trapped under the tram. Just after 1:00 PM, the woman was declared dead by a doctor on the spot.
The accident took place between the Skjold and Lagunen stops, and it led to a temporary stop in light rail traffic and to the closure of county road 582.
The forensic section was on site on Monday afternoon to conduct investigations. The Accident Investigation Board has also been notified.
