A woman in her 30s has been charged with attempted murder after attacking a woman of the same age with a knife in Trondheim on New Year’s Eve.

The woman who was stabbed was taken to St. Olav’s hospital with serious injuries. Another woman was arrested shortly after and is now charged with attempted murder, the newspaper Adresseavisen reports.

The case will be processed in Trøndelag District Court on June 21.

The woman who was taken to the hospital had four injuries to her shoulder and back. Her lung was punctured.

There were several children present in the apartment when the stabbing took place. The two women are in the same family.

Attorney Frode Wisth, who is defending the accused woman, does not want to comment on the criminal case before the trial starts.
