A man in his early 20s risks prison after being caught driving at 224 kilometers per hour (km/h) in a 100 km/h zone.

The man was stopped on the E6 in Melhus in Trøndelag, according to the newspaper Adresseavisen.

“Such a speed is completely unjustifiable. He can count on imprisonment. He was driving at more than twice the legal speed limit,” operations manager Bernt Tiller in Trøndelag Police District told the newspaper.

A total of nine driver’s licenses were seized after speed measurements between 134 and 224 km/h were made.

Eight of the drivers are young and will have their driving licenses on a probationary period for the next year and a half.
