The police are looking for a young man who is said to have pointed a gun at people at Sørenga in Oslo, the police report. No one was injured in the incident.

“The caller (who reported the incident) described a young man who was with several other young men. One took out a pistol from a sack and pointed it around a bit. Then the whole gang disappeared on electric scooters,” operations manager Tor Gulbrandsen in the Oslo Police District told news bureau NTB just after 6:00 PM.

The police were notified of the incident just after 5:30 PM.

There have been no brawls or fights related to the incident.

“The act itself, of taking out a pistol and pointing around it, is of course perceived as threatening. Individuals haven’t been picked out and threatened, but the pistol was pointed around in different directions,” Gulbrandsen added.

It is difficult for the operations manager to estimate whether the weapon was real or a kind of toy.
