Zelenskyy asks NATO for fighter jets and more military equipment
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj says the country has waited too long. He called on NATO to send fighter jets and more weapons systems to the country.
“It is impossible to save the besieged port city of Mariupol without more tanks and fighter jets,” he pointed out.
“Ukraine can not shoot down Russian rockets with shotguns and machine guns,” Zelenskyy said in a video speech on Sunday night.
He adds that Ukraine has been waiting too long for necessary weapons assistance and asks the United States and Europe to provide Ukraine with planes, tanks, and missile defense systems, The Guardian writes.
“This is not just about Ukraine’s freedom; it is about Europe’s freedom,” he said.
