Oslo finally gets its own city beach in Bjørvika – Operastranda. The 100-meter long sandy beach and recreation area were handed over to the Municipality on Friday.

Bjørvika Utvikling, Hav Eiendom, and Oslo S Utvikling are behind the open space at the Opera.

The developers have done their part to create an inclusive gathering place for Oslo residents. The opening takes place over two days in collaboration with the Bjørvika Association.

The new beach was handed over to the Municipality and the city’s population on the opening day.

Mayor Marianne Borgen (SV), Business Councilor Victoria Marie Evensen (Labor Party), Kjell Kalland from Hav Eiendom, and Sarah Khalid from the Central Youth Council in Oslo participated in the ceremony.
