Henningsvær, the Skien/Porsgrunn collaboration, and the Saupstad/Kolstad district in Trondheim have been named the finalists in the battle to become Norway’s most attractive place in 2021.

There were a total of 388 nominations for the Attractive City Award.

“We need vibrant and attractive communities across the country. To show the best examples, we will award a prize to Norway’s most attractive city or town,” Minister of Local Government and Modernization Nikolai Astrup (H) said.

The leader of the Attractive City jury, Alexandria Algard, says this year’s finalists are good examples of how to achieve strong results through broad interaction.

This year’s finalists use collaboration to drive urban and local development at different levels – in districts and the urban area.

There is a lot of innovation in how they collaborate in practice and how this creates co-ownership and local involvement, Algard noted.
