Harstad police received a report of a drunk man wandering around a playground for a long time. It turned out to be a sober man in his 60s who was playing Pokémon Go.

It was 9:0 PM when the police were called about an allegedly drunk man.

The man seemed intoxicated and had stayed on the playground for a long time, which aroused suspicions on Tuesday night before Christmas.

“But the patrol that got there quickly found out that he was sober, and the man explained what he was doing.

“There must have been a so-called Poké stop there… I don’t know… I don’t do that,” operations manager Eirik Kileng in Troms Police District told NTB.

Pokémon Go is a mobile game where you can walk around with your mobile phone to catch Pokémon depending on where you are moving.

“He was allowed to continue. There was no reason to stop him from doing so,” Kileng said.
