A total of 29,560 cigarettes were discovered in a Norwegian-registered car on the Swedish border at Ørje on Wednesday.

The cigarettes were in a specially prepared compartment in the car, the Customs Service writes.

Ørje customs station is located along the E18 in Marker Municipality in Viken and is one of the most important crossing points between Norway and Sweden in Eastern Norway.

The car was driven by a man from Lithuania who lives in Norway.
