A man died after a car fell on its roof and was lying partially submerged in a creek at Brennaveien in Søndre Nordstrand in Oslo. The other man in the car received minor injuries.

The deceased was pronounced dead at the scene, said operations manager Tor Jøkling of Oslo police.

A person called in regional EMT’s and said that sounds of a car crash occurred at 3:17am Saturday night. It turned out that there were two people in the car. One of them was unconscious, the other stuck. According to Jøkling, the other person, also a man, suggested that there were four people in the car.

– But it is unclear whether it is true since he was in shock or if there is something else happebing in the case, said Jøkling to news agency NTB.

The car was taken up before 4:30 am, and it was empty of people. Police assume that the injured man was the driver of the car and he was taken to hospital for blood testing.

– We take into account that driving under the influence may be the reason, said the operational manager.

Oslo University informed at 7am Sunday morning that the man, who is in his 30s, is slightly injured.

Police and accident group from Statens vegvesen are investigating on site.
