The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against travel that is not strictly necessary to the hospital district of Lapland in Finland.

The background for the decision is the weekly assessment of the infection situation from the National Institute of Public Health (FHI).

All travelers from the area who come to Norway from the night of Saturday, December 12, will be quarantined for ten days.

The FHI also recommends removing the entry quarantine for the Vasa hospital district in Finland.

Thus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs introduces exceptions from the travel guidelines for this area.

For the rest of the Nordic region and the EU / EEA / Schengen, there will be no changes, the ministry said on Wednesday.
