The Transport and Environment Agency Arild Hermstad (MDG) in Oslo says the city council will ensure that people in Oslo get their bike repaired free of charge.
This is one of several measures that will prevent people in Oslo from getting infected while using public transportation.
– “In Oslo, some workshops will have an agreement with the municipality and offer free bike repair,” Hermstad tells Aftenposten.
What the measure will cost taxpayers is unclear. How the measure is to be organized has also not been clarified.
The City Council has not yet considered any measures for those who do not own a bicycle. The red-green city council’s goal is that 25 percent of all trips in Oslo will be by bicycle by 2025. In 2019 the proportion was 7.3 percent.
