3.4 percent of pupils dropped out from high school the previous school year. – “Quitting school is a serious choice,” says Minister of Education Jan Tore Sanner (H).

New figures from the Directorate for Education show that 3.4 per cent of pupils, a total of 6,435 persons, left between October 1 and the end of the school year without having started another education program. Students who change education programs or schools during the school year are not included in these statistics.

– “Quitting school is a serious choice for the individual student, but also for the community. These figures show that we need better and closer follow-up of students to help more people complete and pass high school,” says Minister of Knowledge and Integration Jan Tore Sanner (H) in a press release.
