All the classrooms are empty at Flatåsen school in Trondheim due to a massive outbreak of influenza. On Friday, 310 students were absent from school.

Twelve of the teachers are also absent, reports NRK.

Flatåsen School has 826 pupils, and Principal Hilde Klungsøyr says that she has not experienced such absence before.

“We have had culture week this week, which is the nicest week of the year. But as of Wednesday, we have had a terrible absence up here, so things have not gone as planned,” says the principal.
