Next Wednesday, Oslo Municipality will start mass testing of students and staff in upper secondary schools. Stovner is first in line.

The mass testing is a pilot project that uses saliva samples.

“We must test a solution for one school first because this is complicated,” Inga Marte Thorkildsen (SV) told the magazine Utdanningsnytt.

The Conservatives in Oslo have called for mass testing of students after the winter holidays.

“We have wanted this for a long time, and we would have liked to start with it sooner, but we have been waiting for a clear signal from the Norwegian Directorate of Health to start with saliva samples,” Thorkildsen said, adding that the technology, logistics, and capacity are now finally in place.
