All children in first grade will receive free SFO (After-school Activity) for 12 hours per week, says Minister of Education Tonje Brenna (Labor).

This means that those who have a part-time place that is up to 12 hours a week will get this for free and that the price for a full-time offer will also be lower for everyone, the Ministry of Education announced.

The consultation proposal states that the free hours shall be distributed on the days when SFO is normally open, and if the municipalities have SFO offers during the holidays, there must also be a free offer then.

The Directorate for Education has sent proposals for regulations on the scheme for consultation. The consultation deadline is April 29.
