This year, like last year, the Police University College beat its own  record for total number of applicants. When this year’s deadline expired on 1 March, 5663 hopefuls had applied for admission to the Bachelor in Police training.
That’s an increase of nearly 11 percent from the previous record year 2015, to the website of the Police University College. Out of this year’s applicants  4522 had the Police University College as their first priority. This is also an increase from last year.
– We are obviously pleased with the large number of applicants, like last year. This plainly means that police education and the police profession is attractive, headmistress of the Police Academy, Nina Skarpenes, says.
Since 2011 the number of applicants for police training has increased by almost 70 percent. Almost half of this year’s applicants are women. This gratifies the headmaster of a school with the goal of at least 40 percent women in the number of applicants and admissions.
– A continued high proportion of female applicants is great as well,  Skarpenes says.
