The deadline for applying for loans and grants at the Loan Fund (Lånekassen) has been extended by one month. From next week, students can apply for support for the spring semester until 15 April.

The application deadline for the spring semester 2020 expired on 15 March, but now the government has extended it to 15 April.

The Loan Fund is working to get the technical solutions in place, and it will be possible to apply during the next week.

Then the money for January, February and March will be paid, and income secured for April, May and June.

Many students are financially dependent on part-time jobs, but no longer have jobs as a result of the corona crisis.

“Many have had their financial situation turned on its head as a result of the coronavirus. We are working hard to find good solutions for the students,” says Research and Higher Education Minister Henrik Asheim (Høyre) in a press release, and says the extended deadline is only the first step.
