51% of respondents believe that Princess Märtha Louise must stop representing the royal house, according to a poll conducted by Norstat for Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

The 1,000 respondents were asked, “What do you think of Princess Märtha Louise having official duties for the royal family?” NRK writes.

33% answered that they are neutral or have no opinion. At the same time, 13% think it is good that the princess has official duties for the royal household. 3% answered that they “don’t know.”

The questions have been answered in the period from Tuesday, September 20 to Friday, September 23.

The survey has been carried out on the basis that several associations have ended their collaboration with Princess Märtha Louise based on statements from her fiance, Durek Verrett, which conflicted with recognized medical advice.

“This shows that people believe there is a need to create a greater distance between Princess Märtha Louise and what she and her fiance do, and the workings of the royal household. That is a clear signal to the king,” historian Trond Norén Isaksen said about the survey.
