A total of 58 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the municipalities in Jæren after russefeiring last weekend.
Russefeiring is the traditional celebration for Norwegian high school pupils in their final spring semester.
Sandnes has the most cases with 35, according to municipal chief physician Hans Petter Torvik in Sandnes Municipality.
It is expected that infection rates after the russ celebration will rise further.
The Jæren municipalities have encouraged everyone who participated in the russ celebration last weekend to test themselves twice, at five-day intervals.
The russ participants are encouraged to stay in home quarantine until they have received test results.
